For most healthy adults and children, every 6 months — twice a year. This is what most PPO insurance plans cover and what we recommend for ongoing prevention. Patients with active gum disease or higher risk factors may need to come in every 3–4 months for periodontal maintenance instead. Skipping cleanings is the most common reason small problems become expensive ones.

Yes — we treat children of all ages, including first dental visits as early as age 1 (per American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidance). Dr. Le and our team have a patient, gentle approach with kids — no scary words, no rushed exams. Parents are welcome in the operatory. We also accept Texas Medicaid for pediatric care.

We accept most major PPO dental plans — including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, United Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, Guardian, Humana, and more. Tooth-colored composite only — no silver amalgam. Modern composite fillings are mercury-free, bond directly to the tooth, look natural, and last just as long as the older silver fillings. There's no longer a reason to use silver. Many patients ask us to replace their old silver fillings with composite — we can do this gradually at your 6-month cleanings.

Modern root canals are much more comfortable than their reputation suggests. With local anesthesia, most patients feel nothing more than the typical pressure of a filling. The pain people associate with root canals is usually the infection that made the root canal necessary — once we treat that infection, you typically feel better, not worse. If you're anxious, we offer oral sedation.

We always try to save a tooth first — through fillings, crowns, or root canals — whenever the long-term outcome is reasonable. Extraction is recommended only when: (1) the tooth is too decayed to restore, (2) the bone support is too compromised, (3) a root canal has failed and can't be redone, or (4) the tooth is causing crowding or impaction (wisdom teeth). We discuss tooth-replacement options (implant, bridge, partial) before extracting any tooth.

Yes — for both children and adults. Texas Medicaid covers most preventive and basic restorative care including cleanings, exams, X-rays, fluoride, sealants, fillings, and extractions. Yes — three external options plus in-office payment plans. CareCredit offers 6, 12, 18, or 24-month no-interest plans (subject to credit approval). Sunbit offers flexible monthly payment plans with quick approval. Dental Finance is another option for larger plans. We also offer in-office payment plans for patients who prefer to pay us directly. Most patients with treatment plans over $500 use one of these options rather than paying upfront.
